Wow, I was overwhelmed at how well the Muffin Tin Lunch post went over yesterday. I certainly can't take credit for the idea, but I was happy to pass it on. I know how frustrating meals can be!
By far the most common question I got asked was "Where did you get your cutters?". Well, I got 1 set from Pampered Chef (seasonal cutters, a leaf, pumpkin, heart, shamrock, apple, jalapeno pepper). They were part of their Entertaining line a while back, cutters for fancy cheeses, but I don't think they make them anymore, ask your local Pampered Chef rep though, I might be crazy.
The other set (farm animals) I got at ThinkKitchen at Ottawa's Trainyards. But I'm sure any kitchen or baking supply store (Like Michaels) would have a set.
But as luck would have it, I took a run to the Bulk Barn (they have a great selection, and you can buy individual cutters) today and picked up a set for my lucky readers! I've also thrown in a few other helpful Muffin Tin Lunch accessories to help making lunch fun and easy!

ReplyDeleteI really need to try this - I bet my girls would forget they're eating healthy!

Love this idea! I've got to try it for my picky eater. :) I'll probably do cheese, sandwiches, carrot sticks etc.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteAs a Pampered Chef consultant, yes we still sell the cute cutters. If I was making lunch i would put the following:
1 Dip
2 Carrot for dipping
3 mini rice cakes
4 heart shaped grill cheeze
5 blueberries
6 yogurt
GReat idea for getting picky little eaters to eat
Jenna
Thanks Jenna! There you go folks, Pampered Chef still carries their little cutter set. Contact your local rep or Jenna if you don't know one and I'm sure she'd be happy to place an order for you!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. My daughter is always having a "smorgasboard" type lunch and this would be a fun way to mix it up a little. In a muffin tin I would fill it with her favourites, grapes, strawberries, cheese, salami, crackers and cucumbers
ReplyDeleteVery neat idea! I fowarded it to all my mommy group friends. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteFor me, i would have grilled chicken in cubes, steamed broccoli, rice, sliced strawberries, chocolate pudding and cheese bunnies.
This is a great idea and I can't wait to try it out! I would put Tristan's favourites like cheese and crackers, strawberries and grapes, but I would use it as a tool to try to get him to eat things he won't even look at.... like green things! Perhaps he would eat something green if it was in the shape of a dinosaur sandwich?? :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great give away, am very happy I RT yesterday - ha!
ReplyDeleteI would put the following:
-raspberries
-cheese
-baba ganouj
-pita pieces
-carrot sticks
-whole grain crackers
hmmm, why does this sound familiar? oh yes, because it's basically my son's lunch every day ack! lol
they like what they like :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I really like it for too, they'll try anything if you make it cute!
ReplyDeletesteamed broccoli and rice, wow, your kid is a good eater!
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIn each compartment I might try something a little different like toppings for a make-your-own min-pizza made with uncooked dough or using flatbread or a pita. Things I know my girl likes, like (1) baby spinach leaves, (2)onion slices, (3)red peppers, (4)feta cheese crumbles, (5)mozzarella cheese, and (6)sauce.
oh fun!! this is such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI would probably put in crackers, cheese, grapes, banana, strawberries, and maybe jello!!
awesome!
Tracy
This is great!
ReplyDeleteI would do a rainbow of fruit: blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, apples, oranges and kiwi.
I RT'd the muffin tin post and the giveaway post! :)
ReplyDeleteI would put carrots sticks, red pepper sticks, cheese shapes, cute sandwiches and maybe a fun treat for dessert like smarties. Love this type of lunch! My kids love it and eat it and it is easy to make :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I think I'll try it with Mr. Callum. So cute and smart. Here's what I'd put in his (this is a good exercise for me!):
ReplyDelete1. Hot dogs (gluten-free!)
2. Ketchup
3. Carrots
4. Cucumber
5. Hummus or guac
6. Some chocolate milk and a straw :)
Thanks Amanda - this is a fun giveaway!
My 3you would love this because she loves her plate to look like a little buffet of food. I would put cheese, crackers, fruit and yogurt. Great Giveaway!
ReplyDeleteTweeted the post!!
ReplyDeleteI've a cheddar/jalapeno corn bread muffin recipe to test.
ReplyDeleteThough, I really like how you used it as a bento box :)
If bento, I'd do a veg crudite with multiple dips :)
But right now, I'm wondering how those muffin tins would do for individual savory bread puddings or tarts...
I love this idea...for both kids and my "Grown-Up" Parties..So my Grown-Up tin would all the things I love in a good martini....
ReplyDelete1) Garlic Stuffed Olives
2) Fancy Lemon and Lime Twists
3) Cucumber wedges
4) Chive Grass
5) Pickled Onions
6) An extra shot of Vodka...
Cheers
